  1. A few pointers , less we forget
Matches of this magnitude is Warfare ,
Psychological mental physical emotional warfare ! Liverpool FC is the standard Bearer for premiership football

  2. I hate the way we f-around at the back. Midfielders/centerbacks obsessed with passing back to Alisson at the first sign of pressure. Maybe that's ok against a team that sits back but a team like City just follows the pass in and presses then we struggle to get the ball back out. If we really can't go further forward, better to just kick the ball out near the opponent's corner for a throw-in and put on our great press then passing it back to Alisson and struggling to get upfield again..

  3. Liverpool were nervous and a bit timid on the ball. Maybe they showed Man City too much respect. Hopefully we go at them more in the FA cup and put them under a lot more pressure.

  4. It's as expected the way City played. Attacking and speed is their DNA and we cannot be denial and think we could go Etihad and dictate the game plan. What I can't agree is the narrative that Liverpool is vulnerable because City exploited their defense and scored 2 goals. If that is the case, can we all agree that City also vulnerable allowing Liverpool come back twice? The point I'm trying to make is if you are really vulnerable and poor, it's almost no chance to make come back twice against a team like City. Man Utd tried and manage to level 1-1 but end up still losing significantly. Whereas, it's the in game management from Liverpool that prevent City from scoring more. That can be deceiving as vulnerable but it's actually genius game management. To be fair, Liverpool had some decent chances too although City slightly edge it. You cannot expect both sides play open game and attack each other for 90 minutes. This is not FIFA video/online game.

  5. i told u :
always start the game with the usual deadly trio ( firmino salah mane ) then you can bring diaz jota origi and minamino in last 20 min !
    note : firmino is a maestro !
another note : do not do the high line against a fsat strong smart team !

  6. Should never of started building the pressure on ourselves, literally everyone was at it. Ex players , fans, radio, tv , everyone!

Should of put the pressure on city , Klopp should of been coming out laying as much pressure as he could on them!

League is gone and I’d dread playing them in a CL final, would be horrible

  7. Too many defensive and passing side ways problems. Crazily high defensive line against a team with faster player, up front, than we have in our defenders!!!

  8. I think we'll be riled up for the semi-final…. I so badly want to win that now…. May end up seeing them again in the champions League final too… We will learn from our mistakes especially the defensive ones if we play our game there is no way they can beat us

  9. Agree with everything you say, but let’s be honest first half we had four players below par , Trent, Robbo, Hendo, Fabinho, second half a lot better , i bet they don’t play like that on Saturday.

  10. A really disappointing performance. There was no composure on the ball from most of the players. The team was not aggressive enough. The team switched off for the first goal, being caught out by a quick free kick? Come on. Why does the team keep conceding goals from a Matip deflection? It must be something that he is not doing right. Whether it is his laid back approach, the way he leans back to defend the shot. His legs might be too open when defending shots. His body positioning, i don't know but something is wrong there because deflected goals off Matip is starting to become a trend. Also, City's second goal. FFS, They score a goal like that every other match. That is a training ground routine for them. Reverse ball to the back post from a corner. This Liverpool team and coaching staff clearly did not do their homework against these man. Awful performance, the team knew they had to win the match but you could clearly see which team wanted it more. Henderson has no composure on the ball in big games. The midfield to beat City is Thiago Fabinho and Keita. The front three should be Salah, Mane and Diaz [Bobby is not a bad shout either, Jota should be subbed on if the team is chasing a goal. He offers very little otherwise] . Diaz and Keita keep the ball better under pressure than Jota and Henderson. Lastly, I'd consider starting Konate over Matip in this fixture. Konate is quicker and more aggressive than Matip. City were there for the taking, the team was not brave enough on the ball, very nervous and scared of these man. The starting 11 was wrong and clearly the staff did not do their homework on this City team. They score that 2nd goal almost every other match. The reverse ball to the back post from a corner ffs. Anyways 1 point is better than 0 point, so there is still hope. YNWA97

  11. With Inter, we got our undefeated record out the way and with yesterday we ended that prem winning run. These runs are love/hate for me. It's great you're getting the results, but you know they can't go on forever. To have beaten city yesterday but drawn the next game and it'd be city's title if city ended on a winning spree. Now, we're back to needing a winning run to the season end with city having to drop at least a couple of points somewhere for us to steal the title. This way, my preferred way, just seems more manageable. But then maybe I'm just searching for silver linings on an overcast day? We go again.

  12. Word of advice to everyone. Never listen to a game like this while driving along the M1 like I did yesterday. When Sterling scored, I was so depressed that I switched off the radio, and thus didn't hear that the goal had been disallowed. Five minutes later I turned the radio back on, and up until about the 86th minute, I was listening to the game under the impression that Liverpool were 3-2 down. Think I've developed a heart condition.

  13. Liverpool looked like they were a side fighting relegation at times. They were so nervous think we also made subs way to late but we somehow ended up as a draw

  14. Fact is we should have won vs Brentford and Brighton and we would be top. Both games were must wins 10/10 times and we were in the lead in both and let the win out of our hands.
And we were unlucky vs Spurs, we deserved a win, but ref fucked us, especially not giving penalty to Jota being pushed down blatantly.

  15. I don't buy into all the crap about Liverpool were not great or City missed chances etc. Both teams played well in spells and then came under pressure in spells. That's how great teams play against eachother. A slugging match…you take a hit then you hit back. City had home advantage so in the end Liverpool did earn a hard fought point against a team who were on occasion in this game, playing at their best.

  16. When was the last time LFC turned up for a big game? They get too nervous! Klopp needs to turn them into killers, not mice! We need cynicism, and brutal determination. Stop being so friendly, and take them out!!

  17. If Liverpool had the amount of chances and control of the game as City had today, they'd win this game easily imo. City's biggest issue is they need to have a near perfect game to win, Liverpool can play ok and win 2-0 (like they did v Watford). For me Mané and Salah, from 45-70 min were scary good.

  18. I have this awful foreboding that this could be a season of "almosts" and we come away with a Carabao Cup

We do look ragged at times and are grinding out wins…..but if we carry on like that versus a Real or an in form Spurs, it could go from chasing a quadruple to a huge disappointment.

I'm sure the team know this already though.

  19. Man City will be happier because firstly what they have witnessed at anfield, now at the etihad, plus last season is there is fear in the Liverpool team mainly that midfield and they've found it easy to play pass them. We've all been in competitive sports games and you can sense when an opponent/players fear your talent …just the way they lose their ability to perform due to that inferior complex. Believe me that gives you so much confidence, you enjoy playing them. City's faces against Chelsea when they lost 3x in a season, said it all. They hated that style and Chelsea did not fear them one bit. Liverpool midfield especially Hendo, as much as a workhorse and a vital clog to our machine he has fear all over his face and body language against the hyped up teams it could be City,PSG,Madrid you get the idea. You will see dodgy passing, getting tired far quickly, due to nerves. Fabinho however was and is too slow in his thought process, that is the case with most teams he plays. This midfield can get away with most teams, but it will be out of it's depth and level against skillful, cunning, smart players that City possess and a few other teams in europe. The solution, we may need to change our style but it will be too much for klopp and the time frame, bring in some spanish coaches. Our midfield needs technically naturally comfortable players where they can rely on their natural ability when under pressure, to train them into holding possession, incisive possession football like spanish teams do. This is why england fails, all the so called special groups, but what happens? knockout games, they cannot retain or hold the ball. Their ability deserts them, because they are not naturally gifted. Where you literally control, swivel, shrug off players and find passes with deft touches. Otherwise you will never have a stronghold against a city and match them without getting murdered on the pitch.

  20. Lucky escape, that one. Everything's already been said so I'll just say this – at least we know what we're up against next time. A lot of homework to be done and 'A LOT' more confidence.

  21. The run in will be f*cking awesome. We have the harder list of teams to play but as the boss says, we take them all one by one. We have 3 cups to play for and as we always say we go again. This is the best PL season ever and with the players it could be the best season ever. We need Mo to get his head back in the game because its crystal clear it isn't at the moment. He didn't shine last night either that or he was cut out. Not a time to panic yet.

  22. Fabinho terrible yesterday. Henderson played well didn’t stop running, Thiago is incredible was fortunate not to get 2 yellows with them clumsy tackles though. Keita not good enough in my opinion, we should get rid and use funds to try sign a top midfielder. Ultimately our midfield is quite thin, hendo, fab and Thiago all incredible on their day, then we’ve got; keita, ox, Curt Jones, Milner, who are either not good enough or not reliable enough (through injury or age). We need to be proactive signing midfielders this window, our best 3 starting midfield are all ageing; Fab 28, Thiago & Hendo 31. Midfield should be a big focus this window!

  23. Fair comments lads from a City fan. There is no doubt that this is a very special era for the PL. Most probably the two best teams on the planet with, most probably, the two best managers who clearly have the utmost respect for each other. Long may it continue.

  24. This actually gives me more confidence for the rest of the season, because I don't think that City can play much better than they did, but we definitely can – and we managed to get a draw. I believe we will be much better in the FA Cup match and also eventually in the CL. As for the title race, hard to say.

  25. Then if we can’t change for one game, klopp needs to to do something out of his field, get Liverpool to play Spanish style with a mix of his pressing. For that there a whole new system and practice need to be in place. Hire Spanish coaches and main of all a new midfield, keep training how to keep the ball and play through all sort of difficult situations. Saying for a decade we need technicians players that are comfortable on the ball under intense pressure. Players that have natural ability where it comes natural to you which nerves don’t affect.

  26. Man City will be frustrated. This was thier opportunity to put the title race to bed. At home. Packed home crowd. It was thier best chance to get the monkey off thier back and relax. But now every game will be nervy because we are sitting on thier shoulder ready to take over if they stumble.

  27. Had Liverpool not blown away the 2-0 lead to Brighton all of a sudden this draw would have looked gr8. I would still happily take this draw after watching today's game. That Brighton draw at home may only just prove to be costly in the title race. 18/19 season all over again
