What's Going On With AC Milan's Lack of Signings? | RANKS FC

Everyone at the top of Serie A seems to be strengthening – Inter, Juventus, Roma, Lazio, Fiorentina – but at Milan it’s been a difficult summer, despite them being reigning Italian Champions. Why have they found it so difficult to get new signings through the door?

  1. People need to understand that Milan has a very young team who will get better in every year. Last year they lost Donnaruma and Hakan. They added Mike Maignan, Messias and Giroud and eventually won scudetto. They are losing players which is a problem. However, I like Maldini's approach to add players who want to play for Milan. Maldini and Massara are filling up the holes in the squad with smart buys. If Tomori and Kalulu can keep up their form I think they can easily fight for the scudetto with their defense. Adli, CDK, Pobega and Origi are good enough to fight for scudetto and go further in UCL.

  2. Inter and Juve didn’t strengthen. Milan are already strong, they have Adli and Pogbea back from loan. They still have Brahim Diaz, they need a better RW like Ziyech and an older midfielder like Isco.

  3. Wrong very wrong. Inter need to sell, Lazio and Fiorentina are yet to close the gap and the only ones to really bring competitive players are Juventus and Roma. I think you are understimating AC Milan current team. We are never the favorites but at the end we talk on the field !!

  4. Great video.
I think the main issue is that Elliot is still footing the bill as the take over doesn't get completed till September unless I'm mistaken.
And if the budget for Milan is truly 50 Million then it drastically reduces the possibilities.
Alot depended on the CDK deal and what finances we had left post that.
I do believe with Pobega and Adli our midfield will still be great but we definitely need another CB after which I hope we will turn to trying to sign an upgrade to our right wing.
Now that we have signed CDK I hope we also send up signing a CB then go back in for Ziyech and a midfielder would be cherry on the cake.

  5. more signings don't always mean good. Milan buys smart just look at Adli who came back from loan, he's already showing what a talented lad he is. CDk is also coming for his medicals, looking forward to see how Pioli incorporates him in his playstyle.

  6. The delay in Maldini and Massara's contract is probably related to the assurance they needed by the board about making 2-3 good signings to step up their game, but obviously with a change of property and the constant attention needed for balancing the books they needed more time to come to an agreement. Remember there is still a – 50 in the balance that can only be reduced without crazy spending and reducing costs or with player sales (which apparently is not in their plans) so they need to juggle even 2-3 millions for DKT.

  7. The CDK deal is the biggest priority they wanted to close. It is possible that they are waiting for the deal to conclude and find out how much budget they have before spending on others.

If this is the case, then I'd expect several more signings to come shortly after CDK. Probably a prospect CM and backup CB probably
